Here are some SCOOT Agents who assisted in the last adventure in Federation Square, ACMI and Art Play. Players get to play computer games, search for clues, interact with magic carnival sculptures and design characters of their own!

 

HOW TO START

1. Sign Up NOW to become a secret Agent of SCOOT.
2. Go to SCOOT Headquarters on September 16, 17 or 18 to log-on to SCOOT World to receive your first Agent MISSION!
3. You will then be sent an SMS that will start you on a secret trail of clues, games and creature spotting!

(PS. you can also simply 'Sign Up' on the day at either of the Headquarter sites)

It is FREE to play

But you will sometimes need to communicate with SCOOT World using a mobile phone (SMS). This should cost no more than $3.00 (300 cents!) to complete each of the 3 main game sites.

2. When is SCOOT?

The next SCOOT game will be running from 10am - 4pm each day from Saturday, 16 September until Monday, 18 September 2006 (first weekend of the school holidays). You can also log into SCOOT World from any computer with an Internet connection any time after the game starts. Click here to find out more!

3. How do I REGISTER as a SCOOT Agent

Go to the Sign Up page and enter a group name and a mobile phone number. Make sure this is the same mobile number you will use on the day. It's sooooooo easy!

4. Where do I start my mission

On any day between September 16 and 18 (first weekend of the school holidays), you and your group will need to go to a SCOOT headquarters to log on to SCOOT World to receive your first mission. Headquarters are at:

- ACMI, Games Lab
- Melbourne Museum, Discovery Centre
- State Library of Victoria, Experimedia

Part of the game path will also take you to the NGVa, Federation Square and the Arts Centre
Each location has a unique game path for you to explore. You will seek out clues to help the Savatars and earn points for your team.

5. How do I solve clues?

When you first log-on to SCOOT World, you will get a MISSION overview and your very first clue. This will lead you to a challenge nearby. Answers to a clue can take many forms:
  • a sign, text on the wall, part of a painting, a museum display (think, the Da Vinci Code)
  • Character animations will appear on many different screens thruought the sites - TVs, plasmas, projectors, computers etc. These will display vital answers to some clues.
  • Interactive machines/boxes have been left by the Pesky Ones to distract you with fancy drums, dials, cameras, buttons (they are normally SCOOT Green and easy to find)... but they hold vital information for you.

Sometimes when you solve a clue, you will need to SMS the answer to SCOOT... SCOOT will instantly SMS reply with the next clue for you to follow.
You need to follow the clues in the order they come to you... or else the game gets confusing and you may not be able to finish the mission... and MISS OUT on the PRIZES!

6. Who should be in my group?

Normally you should play with a grown up... it's great fun to play with your Mum and Dad
Otherwise, you can play with some friends.

8. What happens in SCOOT World?

Once you log-on to SCOOT and complete your mission... you can return to SCOOT World to:
  • Get mission updates
  • Check your status as an Agent (score table)
  • Play web games for extra points
  • Chat with other players
  • Customise your disguise (avatar)

9. How do I score?

There are a number of rewards for playing SCOOT.
  1. Points: for each clue you solve in your world
  2. Points: from playing games in SCOOT World
  3. Body Bits for your game avatar: some clues that you solve in your world will also automatically release extra body bits to your profile in SCOOT World so that you can customise your avatar with a fancy design.

10. How do I win?

11. Will there be any people there to help?

YES!
  1. The staff at the Game Locations can help you with most general questions, directions, compliments!
  2. There will also be other SCOOT Agents at the sites. Just look out for the SCOOT ID they will be wearing. You will know it as soon as you see it!

12. Can I play from home?

When you get home at the end of a mission, you can log-on to this web site to get back to SCOOT World and continue playing the web games for points and to chat with other registered Agents. There will also be a section where you can submit any new character ideas and drawings!

Of course, you will need a computer to do this!
